This is a hand drawn sketch/illustration of a bull flag chart pattern, with a retracement. In this case after the pair moves up, it retraces from point 1 to 2, before proceeding higher in the overall uptrend.  This chart pattern generally occurs on the intraday time frames like M5, M15 and M30 in a trending market but can it occur on any time frame. The overall trend on this pair is up.
Most cryptocurrencies are designed to gradually decrease production of that currency, placing a cap on the total amount of that currency that will ever be in circulation.[25] Compared with ordinary currencies held by financial institutions or kept as cash on hand, cryptocurrencies can be more difficult for seizure by law enforcement.[1] This difficulty is derived from leveraging cryptographic technologies.
1) Irreversible: After confirmation, a transaction can‘t be reversed. By nobody. And nobody means nobody. Not you, not your bank, not the president of the United States, not Satoshi, not your miner. Nobody. If you send money, you send it. Period. No one can help you, if you sent your funds to a scammer or if a hacker stole them from your computer. There is no safety net.

Controversy about currency speculators and their effect on currency devaluations and national economies recurs regularly. Economists, such as Milton Friedman, have argued that speculators ultimately are a stabilizing influence on the market, and that stabilizing speculation performs the important function of providing a market for hedgers and transferring risk from those people who don't wish to bear it, to those who do.[79] Other economists, such as Joseph Stiglitz, consider this argument to be based more on politics and a free market philosophy than on economics.[80]
For day-to-day trading, however, the most significant feature of USD/JPY is the heavy influence exerted by Japanese institutional investors and asset managers. Due to a culture of intra-Japanese collegiality, including extensive position and strategy information-sharing, Japanese asset managers frequently act in the same direction on the yen in the currency market. In concrete terms, this frequently manifests itself in clusters of orders at similar price or technical levels, which then reinforce those levels as points of support or resistance. Once these levels are breached, similar clusters of stop loss orders are frequently just behind, which in turn fuel the breakout. Also, as the Japanese investment community moves en masse into a particular trade, they tend to drive the market away from themselves for periods of time, all the while adjusting their orders to the new price levels, for instance raising limit buy orders as the price rises.
The volatility inherent in Cable and Swissy makes the use of short-term (hourly and shorter) momentum oscillators problematic, due to both false crossovers and divergences between price/momentum that frequently occur in these time frames. Longer-period oscillators (four hours and more) are best used to highlight potential reversals or divergent price action, but volatility discourages initiating trades based on these alone. Instead, momentum signals need to be confirmed by other indicators, such as breaks of trendlines, Fibonacci retracements or parabolic levels, before a trade is initiated.
I want to say that Bitcoin is bullish in the long run. I can support my position by the following arguments: - the price stays above SMA50, SMA100, SMA200 and they confirm the bullish trend - the price bounced from the support zone formed by SMA50 and SMA100 - we got a new swing low which is higher than the previous one - the price broke the local downtrend...

Forex trading, also known as foreign exchange trading or currency trading, is where an investor tries to make money by buying and selling currencies on the foreign exchange market. Most investors will follow trends and use strategies to optimise their return. This is a very basic definition that does not reflect the full complexity of Forex trading; our free workshops are ideal for people who are unfamiliar with the concept and want to quickly achieve an in-depth insight into how this all works.
Overall, demo accounts offer a multitude of benefits, from honing a strategy to getting familiar with prospective markets. However, there are certain limitations, from tackling different emotions to seeing the need for an effective risk management strategy. But regardless of whether you think using demo accounts is very helpful or not, they remain an effective way to test a potential broker and platform.
An appropriate trading platform is a half way to the success. Forex traders distinguish technical and fundamental analysis which they apply to in order to predict the exchange rates directions. The technical analysis is a statistic and mathematic analysis of the previous quotation prices which enables prediction of the following prices. The initial data for the technical analysis are the highest and the lowest prices, the prices of the opened and closed positions at a particular period of time, the volume of the operations. The analysis represents itself in a number of diagrams which are displayed on the trading platform. The diagrams exactly show the direction of the prices’ movement or a so- called trend online.

If you love the MT4 and MT5 software and you cannot do without these trading platforms, then you need to love the MQL4 and MQL5 Community Marketplaces. These marketplaces are where you have a collection of anything that has to do with the MetaTrader trading platform. Is it indicators, scripts or forex robots you want, or perhaps you just want to look up some literature on how the two platforms work? You can go to the terminal window of the MT4 or MT5 platforms, click the tabs circled below, and you will be taken to the appropriate sections of the MT4 or MT5 Community websites.
One of the best ways to learn about forex is to see how prices move in real time and place some trades using fake money by using an account called a paper-trading account (so there is no actual financial risk to you). Several brokerages offer online or mobile phone app-based paper trading accounts that work exactly the same as live trading accounts, but without your own capital at risk.

I used to trade common technical analysis patterns and basic setups. I had no clue what was happening in the markets. After completing this training program I now know who is in control of the market at any given time, what is likely to happen, and what my odds are. I’ve learned more from this training program than I had learned from several years of trading education, and I finally have an edge in the market. I only wish I had it when I first started.– Petr Neugebuer, Czech Republic
Currencies are designated using a three letter abbreviation. The letters denote which country the currency originates in, as well as the name of the currency. For example, USD stands for “United States Dollar”. AUD would denote Australia Dollar, while CAD is indicative of the Canadian Dollar. In the Forex market, there are some currencies which are the subject of more intense trader focus.
Before 2010, most brokers allowed substantial leverage ratios, sometimes up to 400:1, where a $100 deposit would allow a trader to trade up to $40,000 worth of currency. Such leverage ratios are still sometimes advertised by offshore brokers. However, in 2010, US regulations limited the ratio to 100:1. Since then, the allowed ratio for US customers has been reduced even further, to 50:1, even if the broker is located in another country, so a trader with a $100 deposit can only trade up to $5000 worth of currencies. In other words, the minimum margin requirement is set at 2%. The purpose of restricting the leverage ratio is to limit the risk.
Should you have a position that is subject to an additional margin requirement we will contact you to make arrangements to cover it. This increased margin requirement will continue to apply at FOREX.com’s discretion, until the position size decreases and remains materially below the threshold for a sustained period. Partially closing the position will not automatically reduce your margin requirement.
In terms of technical studies, the overwhelming depth of EUR/USD suggests that momentum oscillators are well-suited to trading the euro, but traders should consider adjusting the studies' parameters (increase time periods) to account for the relatively plodding, back-and-fill movements of EUR/USD. In this sense, reliance on very short-term indicators (less than 30 minutes) exposes traders to an increased likelihood of "whipsaw" movements. Moving average convergence divergence (MACD) as a momentum study is well-suited to EUR/USD, particularly because it utilises exponential moving averages (greater weight to more recent prices, less to old prices) in conjunction with a third moving average, resulting in fewer false crossovers. Short-term (hourly) momentum divergences routinely occur in EUR/USD, but they need to be confirmed by breaks of price levels identified though trendline analysis to suggest an actionable trade. When larger moves are underway, traders are also likely to find the directional movement indicator (DMI) system useful for confirming whether a trend is in place, in which case momentum readings should be discounted, and might choose to rely on DI+/DI- crossovers for additional trade entry signals.
It’s critical to understand that the top forex trading platforms by popularity are MetaTrader 4 and cTrader due to the number of international and Australian forex brokers that offer it. You may feel that the top forex trading platform is IG, EasyMarkets etc but this makes is more difficult down the track to switch currency brokers. As a rule of thumb, when deciding which forex trading is the best, you should consider the popularity of the platform as a long-term consideration.
When the ratio is rising, it means gold is outperforming silver, and when the line is falling, the first term is doing worse, i.e., silver is doing better. In other words, when the ratio is high, the general consensus is that silver is favored. Conversely, a low ratio tends to favor gold and may be a signal it’s a good time to buy the yellow metal. Despite the gold-to-silver ratio fluctuating so wildly, another way of using it is to switch holdings between silver and gold when the ratio swings to historically determined "extremes."
The currency market is affected by many factors, including political and economic instabilities, among others. Therefore, in an effort to stabilize domestic currency, central banks trade in the open Forex market, maintaining relative value in compression with foreign currencies. Meanwhile, businesses that conduct business within various countries hedge their currency risks in an attempt to mitigate their risks within foreign markets.
Currency trading is great because you can use leverage, and there are so many different currency pairs to trade. It doesn't mean, however, that you need to trade them all. It's better to pick a few that have no relation and focus on those. Having only a few will make it easy to keep up with economic news for the countries involved, and you'll be able to get a sense of the rhythm of the currencies involved.
The explanation isn't complicated, but at first, it may seem a little strange and requires a two-part explanation. First, remember that if it's midnight in New York when the New York forex market is closed, it's also the middle of the trading day somewhere -- in Tokyo, for instance. Also, keep in mind that forex is a worldwide market that is entirely virtual. There's no trading pit anywhere. When you enter a midnight forex trade on your laptop in New York, the trade is executed in Tokyo or in another of the several trading centers worldwide that are open when you initiate the trade.
As you may learn over time, nothing beats experience, and if you want to learn forex trading, experience is the best teacher. When you first start out, you open a forex demo account and try out some demo trading. It will give you a good technical foundation on the mechanics of making forex trades and getting used to working with a specific trading platform.

What happens when the market approaches recent lows? Put simply, buyers will be attracted to what they regard as cheap. What happens when the market approaches recent highs? Sellers will be attracted to what they view as either expensive, or a good place to lock in a profit. Therefore, recent highs and lows are the yardstick by which current prices are evaluated.

Currencies are traded against one another in pairs. Each currency pair thus constitutes an individual trading product and is traditionally noted XXXYYY or XXX/YYY, where XXX and YYY are the ISO 4217 international three-letter code of the currencies involved. The first currency (XXX) is the base currency that is quoted relative to the second currency (YYY), called the counter currency (or quote currency). For instance, the quotation EURUSD (EUR/USD) 1.5465 is the price of the Euro expressed in US dollars, meaning 1 euro = 1.5465 dollars. The market convention is to quote most exchange rates against the USD with the US dollar as the base currency (e.g. USDJPY, USDCAD, USDCHF). The exceptions are the British pound (GBP), Australian dollar (AUD), the New Zealand dollar (NZD) and the euro (EUR) where the USD is the counter currency (e.g. GBPUSD, AUDUSD, NZDUSD, EURUSD).
This strategy is employed by forex traders as a long-term plan to make the trades profitable. The indicator mainly uses the ‘Pullback’ and the ‘Trend’, both of which are fundamental in nature. In order to have a complete understanding as to how this strategy works, traders must be familiar with the more fundamental concept called ‘the trend’. It is very difficult to explain each individual price change and determine a pattern as there will be many of them. Traders need to look at the bigger picture in order to see trends. The three key Fibonacci numbers that traders should always remember are 0.382, 0.5, and 0.618. They should also keep in mind 0.764 and 0.236.
For this strategy, we will use the Exponential Moving Average (EMA) indicator. The previous week's last daily candlestick has to be closed at a level above the EMA value. Now we have to look for the moment when the previous week's maximum level was broken. Next, a buy stop order is placed on the H4 closed candlestick, at the price level of the broken level.
This lesson is not filled with a lot of general information about forex charts or general chart patterns from all markets. The examples and illustrations in this article really do occur weekly on the spot forex week after week, on the various pairs we follow. If you look at different time frames across a lot of pairs you will see all of them clearly over time.

But the real revolution was the introduction of online platforms that allowed customers to place limit orders. A limit order is an instruction to buy or sell a currency at a specified price or better.7 Enabling customers to place limit orders meant they could trade forex online anonymously, bypassing dealers. When customers were no longer dependent on dealers, bid-ask spreads started to reduce, resulting in better forex prices for businesses and individuals.8
Trading is a mentally challenging event and a lot of it has to do with the psychology behind it. While difficult, it’s essential for a trader to take control of their emotions and develop a strong mental attitude towards trading. This is why a demo account can be useful tool for building experience and improving investment habits. This can then be further reinforced by the adoption of risk management techniques.

Establish your risk tolerance. Every stock trader has a risk-based comfort level when investing in the stock market. Focus on stocks that best combat the risk you are concerned about, be it inflation, taxation, liquidity, or all of the above. Mix your portfolio assets across different stock categories, and try to cover the various types of risk associated with investing. By and large, if you lose 10% or so in your stock portfolio, and that causes you to lose sleep at night, then stay cautious with your stock market trades.
The rounding bottom, head and shoulders patterns, inverse head and shoulders, reverse head and shoulders, triple bottom, cup and handle and the descending triangle, are also valuable. These patterns will help you find trade ideas faster than what the average trader will be able to find. It will help you make sure that you enter the trade at the right price levels.

Those who believe in Cryptocurrency claim it to be the next big thing in the history of mankind. The mere fact that Cryptocurrency is beyond the control of any government body gets it a lot of eyeballs. Imagine a universal currency beyond the control of liquidity, inflation and government subsidy. This would mean that the commercial activity of economies working on Cryptocurrency shall be privatized absolutely.
Expert Advisors (EAs) are programs that have been developed in MetaQuotes Language 4 (MQL 4) and are used to automate analytical and trading processes. These programs perform prompt technical analysis of price data, and manage trading activities on the basis of pre-programmed trading strategies. The entire routine work of technical analysis and trading can be programmed into an EA. However, please be aware that the OANDA MetaTrader 4 platform must be running on your computer, and it must be connected to OANDA’s servers, in order to run a EA.
One function that most new FX traders overlook is tax reporting. Because FX is a global, unregulated market, dealers as a general rule do not provide any documentation to the tax authorities in the trader's country of residence. Tax reporting is solely the responsibility of the trader. Brokers produce detailed transaction histories, in an electronic format, from which the trader must then compile their tax reports. Such an arrangement calls for a trading platform with highly organized and flexible reporting functions.

Demo accounts became widespread in the twenty-first century, along with online trading. They are marketed to customers as a way for a customer to test a platform’s user experience and features before committing their own money to these investments or paying the platform trading commissions. For instance, one popular online stock trading platform is TD Ameritrade's thinkorswim. Prospective customers of the company, or customers who simply want to spend time practicing trading strategies risk-free, can sign up for a demo account online. Once you have a demo account, you can use their “paperMoney” platform to buy and sell stocks using fake money, but test those trades under real, live market situations. According to TD Ameritrade, the product is geared toward who’ve always wanted to trade, but don’t have enough money, have the money but don’t know where to start, or are experienced traders who want to test new strategies.

There are two ways CFDsbrokers make money. One way is through spreads which is the difference between the buy and sell rate. The second way is set commissions based on trading volume. It’s important to work out the volume you plan to trade and then working out based on average spreads/commissions which broker will provide you the best value for money. Generally, ECN brokers which allow you to make trades directly without liquidity providers offer lower spreads than market makers.
Compare the pros and cons of each trading platform, and make an informed choice as to whether a better platform is worth paying higher fees for - or indeed, if a simplified interface or features such as social trading are worth paying a premium for. We only list forex brokers we feel meet an exacting criteria, but your priorities may differ - make sure to explore each broker in full rather than opting for the company with the biggest welcome bonus.
Foremost of all, forex demo accounts are not able to provide their users with the same emotional intensity when compared to trading with a real money account. One of the hardest things that a trader has to learn when trading forex is keeping their emotions in check. Hence because of the limitations of the demo account, the only way that a trader can learn to master his emotions is by trading with a real money account.

Trading currencies is no child’s play. So while it can provide a trader with the opportunity for unlimited profits, it carries with it a enormous level of risk which all forex brokers are required by law to warn their clients about. The risks are increased exponentially when leveraged trading involved. In some cases, it is possible for a trader to lose more money than he initially deposited.

In 1967 both 0.800 silver/0.200 copper and, later that year, 0.500 silver/.500 copper 10¢ and 25¢ coins were issued. 1968 saw further debasement: the 0.500 fine silver dimes and quarters were completely replaced by nickel ones mid-year. All 1968 50¢ and $1 coins were reduced in size and coined only in pure nickel. Thus, 1968 marked the last year in which any circulating silver coinage was issued in Canada.

Any nation’s central bank, adjusts the rates of interest from time to time in order to contain or curb the inflationary trends. This, in turn, has a definitive effect on the currency market and traders assume trading positions accordingly. The central bank of a country does not act as it is a solid body. The interest rate is increased or decreased based on the vote cast by the members of the monetary policy committee. The number of members monetary committee varies from one bank to another. If the interest rate is cut, there will be more money in circulation. This makes it cheaper. If the interest rate is hiked, its value increases.

In contrast to the majority of financial markets, the OTC (over-the-counter) currency markets does not have any physical place or main exchange and trades 24-hours every day via a worldwide system of companies, financial institutions and individuals. Because of this, currency rates are continuously rising and falling in value towards one another, providing numerous trading choices.

That is, the one perfect system that will make money, if not every single time, then at least 90% of the time. Reports in advertisements of systems that have an amazingly high success rate support the belief that such a perfect or near perfect forex trading system exists. And yet when the average trader starts using these systems, suddenly the success rate is not so high after all.

How do you go about finding the best forex trading software? Well, perhaps the best idea would be to download a few representative programs and try them out within their return period to see what works best for your needs. If the software does not suit your purposes well, then submit a refund request. Another way to do some advance research on forex trading software would involve reading online product reviews and discussion forum postings from users of the software.

Cost – How much does day trading software cost? It’s all too easy to opt for the cheapest trading software. Whilst this may save you money in the short term, you may be sacrificing essential features your strategy requires. Adding these features later may cost you even more than if you’d invested in a comprehensive software to start with. Also, check to see if the software is available as part of the standard brokerage account, or does it come at an additional cost?
The difference between the bid and ask rates is called SPREAD. The spread is a means of profit to a person who exposes the quotation. Let us consider a pair USD/JPY=104.75/85 with the spread in 10 points. You sell 100 US dollars and get 100x104.75=10475 Japanese Yen. If someone is willing to buy 100 US dollars they will have to pay 100x104.85=10485 Japanese Yen. The bureau de change will earn 10485-10475=10 Japanese Yen. This is how brokers make profits on the forex market. The spread value varies for different market participants. The spread for those who make transactions in million dollars is minimal, just a few points but it can guarantee a weighty profit. For minor forex participants the spread value is much higher. So, bid rates, ask rates and spread are the key notions to comprehend for a trader when working on the forex market.
